Essential Functions Statement(s)

Apply ICD and CPT coding guidelines by assigning diagnostic and procedural codes to clinic
charts other various medical charts.
Analyze charges on patients’ charts to verify charge matches service. After ensuring accuracy of
charges enter data into software to drop the bill.
Query physicians or review medical records to obtain additional information of denied claims.
Re-code and abstract if necessary.
Monitor billing status by running reports and obtaining needed medical records for coding and
abstraction of bill.
Supports and abides by the mission, values, and policies of CHCS in all activities.
On-going compliance with CHCS educational requirements.
All other duties as required.

Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to comply with government regulations and to ensure safety of patients and staff.
Review and evaluate developed x-rays, video tape, or computer-generated information to determine if images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.
Position imaging equipment and adjust controls to set exposure time and distance, according to specification of examination.
Explain procedures and observe patients to ensure safety and comfort during scan.
Key commands and data into computer to document and specify scan sequences, adjust transmitters and receivers, or photograph certain images.
Operate or oversee operation of radiologic or magnetic imaging equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes.
Position and immobilize patient on examining table.
Record, process, and maintain patient data or treatment records and prepare reports.
Take thorough and accurate patient medical histories.
Set up examination rooms, ensuring that all necessary equipment is ready.
Summary
Able to do CT and/or MRI exams, or have the willingness to receive the training.
