Responsibilities and Duties

CMA Certification in the state of Kansas. Must be in good standing with state registry
Administering resident prescribed drugs per orders
Provide all documentation required
Assisting in or providing for all of a resident’s ADL’s (activities of daily living)
Providing patient care in a way to maintain independence and dignity
Ability to lift residents or assist in lifting residents up to 300lbs
While on duty please be prepared for whatever needs arise, this could include some light housekeeping (night time staff do participate in some light household cleaning of common areas), participating in state survey process, answering the phone and communicating with other staff/management
Answering the phone in a professional manner should be of utmost importance. Staff members are rewarded for properly handling potential resident inquiry calls

Compensation ranges from $17.25 – $18.25/hour.

CMA- Providing physical support for patients or residents with

daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing,

dressing, getting out of bed, – using the toilet, walking,

standing, or exercising.

 Turning and repositioning bedridden patients.

 Ensuring residents receive appropriate diet by reviewing

their dietary restrictions, food allergies, and preferences.

 Obtaining a wide range of information from physicians,

caregivers, and nurses about patient conditions, treatment

plans, and suggested activities.

 Measuring and recording food and liquid intake and urinary

and fecal output and reporting changes to medical or

nursing staff.

 Recording vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse,

temperature, and respiration rate as requested by staff.

 Examining patients to detect issues requiring medical care,

including open wounds, bruises, or blood in the urine.

 Reminding patients to take medications and nutritional

supplements.

 Noting observations of patient behavior, including

complaints, or physical symptoms to nurses.

 Stay up to date on CMA training and facility policy and

procedure.

 Administer medications as ordered by patient’s physician

Compensation is $15/hour for CNAs; $17/hour for CMAs.

Medical scribing for providers
Patient intake (HPI, ROS, PQRS, pictures)
Review pathology log daily and notify patient of results within 24 hours
Assist with surgical procedures
Perform Blue U procedures under direction of providers
Meaningful use tracking
Input patient clipboard history into EMA
Fax records to referring physicians, PA’s and APRN’s
Clean, sterilize and package instruments after use
Daily phone triage – refills, medical questions, voice mails
Keep surgical patients and family informed and answer any pre or post op questions
Educate patients on skin cancer, preventative care and the importance of follow up visits
Shares workload with nursing team to promote efficiency and a positive patient experience
Keep work area clean, organized and free of any HIPAA related information
All other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Medical Assistant Certification
At least two years of experience in a clinical setting

Preferred Skills:
Experience in a dermatology setting

Caregiver, HHA, CNA, CMA

Needing a health care person to provide care and companionship for a 57 year old female with Alzheimers. She also needs help with personal hygiene care, meals, dog walking and light housekeeping. Schedule can be flexible but start between 10-12 and end between 4 to 6 pm. All days are possible for schedule.

Welcome patient and confirm patient’s statement of current problems and symptoms.
Review ‘self-care management plan’ from previous visit, if patient is here for chronic disease management.
Review problem list and update record with important completed tests (colonoscopy, mammogram).
Review and complete overdue health maintenance and open orders at each visit.
Inquire regarding providers patients have seen outside the practice since their last visit.
Review and update patient medication.
Document any refusals of treatments or tests refused by patients.
Completes follow up work after visit; order lab, x-ray and other diagnostic test as indicated by the provider.
List. maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
Monitor, record and report symptoms and changes in patients’ conditions.
Record patients’ medical information and vital signs.
Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient’s condition.
Prepare patients for, and assist with, examinations and treatments.
Provide patient education.
Review new meds with patients, family, caregiver.
Explain referral process.
Remind patient to call with any questions.
Prepare rooms, sterile instruments, equipment and supplies, and ensure that stock of supplies is maintained.
Direct and coordinate provider’s schedule by organizing diagnostic and preventative reports for provider review, preparing needed equipment prior to patient’s appointment, direct other staff as needed to ensure patients have been assessed and ready for provider exam.
Prepares for, attends and participates in team meetings, quality improvement projects, team huddles and scheduling huddles with provider and registration.
