Revit/AutoCAD Drafting Technician

Position Summary:
Latimer, Sommers & Associates, P.A. (LSA) is seeking a Drafting Technician for its Topeka, KS and Overland Park, KS locations. Members of LSA’s drafting team translate the engineers’ designs into consistent, easy-to-read construction documents using AutoCAD and Revit software programs. The documents produced provide clarity for building contractors and are a key element in the bidding process. The selected candidate for the position will receive on the job training with Revit/AutoCAD software programs utilized by LSA to convey engineering designs with quality construction documents and drawings. The candidate will gain a diverse knowledge of building MEP systems from working closely with engineers.

Responsibilities:
• Produce CAD/Revit drawings and details, coordinate 3D models and families of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other MEP systems from engineer redlines and input following company standards
• Report to CAD/BIM manager for daily/hourly tasks
• Participate in ongoing training for CAD and Revit software
• Coordinate and work collectively with other drafting team members
• Contribute to team development and template standardization used in creating consistent drawings and designs
• Revise existing construction documents to incorporate changes for distribution

Equipment Mechanic

Position Summary & Responsibilities:

Position Summary:

This position is located in Wamego within District One. This position exists to provide skilled mechanical work for the maintenance and repair of equipment in support of KDOT’s construction and maintenance activities. It also provides skilled welding and fabrication work. Additionally, this position completes work orders and handles the procurement of parts including ordering and tracking.

Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

Performs a full-range mechanical overhaul & repair of light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment. This includes occasional repairs in the field.
Diagnoses malfunctions and troubleshoots to determine cause of failure on complex systems, including but not limited to, hydraulics and pneumatics systems.
Makes working diagnosis of mechanic failure by means of specialized testing equipment and visual or auditory checks.
Performs tune-up, electrical repairs and maintenance/adjustment on both automotive and heavy-duty equipment.

Six months of experience in automotive and/or diesel mechanics to meet the needs of the agency. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.

Asphalt Crew Position

Roller Operator

Reports to: Crew Foreman

I. Purpose of the job:
To safely operate machine that compacts and smoothes hot-mix bituminous paving material and to produce the highest quality pavement possible.

II. Essential functions and responsibilities:
1. Serves as a representative of the company, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions with other members of the company and with the public.
2. Safely operates the roller, using procedures designed to produce the highest quality pavement possible.
3. Performs appropriate daily machine maintenance, including the monitoring and inspecting of bearings and all other working parts.
4. Moves levers, depresses pedals, turns handwheels, pushes throttle to control and guide machine.
5. Determines speed and direction of machine, based on knowledge of compressibility of material under changing temperatures, so that ridges are not formed by excessive pressure.
6. Drives machine in successive overlapping passes over surface to be compacted.
7. Monitors roller for unusual noise or vibration and report it to crew foreman.
8. Monitors quality of work being produced by the roller.
9. Work as a team member.

About the MSAC

The MSAC is a community-based wellness program for individuals with progressed multiple sclerosis. Members attend for many years creating a community that supports and encourages each other. The staff is made up of a small interdisciplinary team including occupational and physical therapist, program assistant, marketing and events, and executive director. This position reports directly to the executive director.

The MSAC is a supportive, encouraging team that develops long term relationships with members and their families. The Occupational Program Manager is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the MS Achievement Center (MSAC) and will bring energy, compassion, flexibility and willingness to collaborate and learn from other team members. Experience leading groups and developing activities for a community-based program would be valuable skills to bring to the role. Job Description:

Plan and facilitate, or recruit appropriate volunteers and/or students, to facilitate weekly support group for program participants. Present topics of relevance to individuals living with progressed MS, share resources and encourage peer support in addressing challenges and solution finding.

Recruit, train and supervise students and volunteers to help in all aspects of the weekly program.

Assist with development and implementation of new MSAC programs and services.

Monitor and evaluate program/project effectiveness to assure compliance with goals, mission, and policies.

Track and document attendance and participation in activities for all members.

Participate in monthly member assessment and staff meetings.

Manage program inquiries, applications and orientation. Schedule and coordinate intake assessments and conduct home visits for all new members.

As a Service Desk Technician I, you will be expected to provide support in a computer help desk/service desk environment. This position is assigned to the Information Technology Section. The Computer Help Desk/Service Desk must be adequately staffed to cover three shifts and it is operational 24x7x365.

Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

Provide support in a technical computer help desk/service desk environment;
Assist KBI agents, law enforcement officers, and KBI and KCJIS users with day-to-day operational and communication needs;
Provision access to information resources for users and devices and maintain documentation and databases to support provisioning and authorization;
Answer calls from the public and the Kansas Crime Line;
Maintain policy and procedures to support operations for the Computer Help Desk/Service Desk;
Monitor all KBI locations (cameras and access control systems) to assist in maintaining site physical security;
Provide support for all telecommunication needs of the KBI;
Monitor systems relating to the emergency operations of the KBI and serve as the KBI communications center in the event of such emergencies.
