KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

Required

Must be at least 18 years of age
High School graduate or equivalent
Current EMT license or above issued by State of Kansas

ELECTRICIAN

Repairs and installs electrical systems on building, interior and exterior, cuts and shapes conduit with hand tools and fastens it in place with bracket and clamps. Determines the correct wire and conduit size needed and makes necessary connections to equipment or area being worked on. Maintains and repairs electrical wiring to motors, electrical appliances and related equipment. Maintains, tests, and repairs electrical control wiring to HVAC equipment, boiler controls, switching gear, and any electrical equipment or systems related to the operation of the complex’s programs.
Performs general maintenance on various equipment by assisting other maintenance personnel or repairing miscellaneous equipment as necessary or requested. Perform necessary preventative maintenance as instructed by the supervisor.
Instructs semi-skilled or unskilled employees in the methods, tools and standards of the trade when help is needed or assigned to incumbent through the supervisor.

Juvenile Correctional Officer

KJCC is overseen by the Kansas Department of Corrections and is a 24-hour medium and maximum-security facility for male and female juveniles located in Topeka KS. Residents are generally adjudicated of offenses that would be considered a felony if committed by adults.

The Juvenile Corrections Officer I is responsible for assuring that offenders at Kansas Juvenile Correctional Complex (KJCC) are provided oversight and structure through the supervision of their daily routine to maintain appropriate productivity and progress on individual, group, facility, and agency outcomes. Staff model behavior for the offenders to increase their accountability, competency development and reintegration techniques. Support is provided to the Juvenile Corrections Officer I through a structured chain of command.

Diesel Mechanic

Our Diesel Mechanics are responsible for preventative maintenance of equipment on site. We are looking for applicants that will care for machinery, keep it in good working order, and prevent as many breakdowns and emergency repairs as possible! When breakdowns do occur, we need a Diesel Mechanic that has thought ahead. One of your job responsibilities will be to identify which parts need to be ordered and on hand for quick emergency repairs, in order to decrease the downtime of the machinery. You will also be responsible for proper care of all of the tools. We are looking for applicants that have the ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems, taking the initiative to not just fix the problem but identify it accurately. You will need to be able understand and interpret diagnostic codes, and communicate what is needed to efficiently and thoroughly complete the repair.

In addition to your mechanical skills, we also need a Diesel Mechanic that works well with our team. Good communication skills with the site manager will be important. You’ll be working together with other mechanics on site, and will be expected to collaborate with these other team members in order to troubleshoot problems and repair breakdowns. At times, outside contractors may be joining our mechanics team, and we need a Diesel Mechanic that will work professionally with outside contractors and represent J-Six Enterprises exceptionally.

As a Machinist at Caterpillar Inc. you will set up and operate conventional, special purpose and numerical (NC) machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic parts.* Individuals in this classification are fully trained on several machines but not all of the following: CNC Lathes, CNC vertical machining centers, CNC Nissin Horizontal boring mills, manual horizontal boring mills, bridgeport style milling machine, radial arm drills, and hand tools used in the manufacturing process.

Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specs
Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data

Develops specs from general description and draws sketch of part or product to be fabricated

Required Qualifications:

Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school OR 6 months to one year of related experience and/or training; OR equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to work with mathematical problems and deal with variety of concrete variables
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations
Regularly required to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms

Description

As a welder in the Wamego facility, you will hand weld in multiple positions to create parts using semi-automatic MIG welders and .052 wire as well as use robotic welding technology. You will also read and use blueprints to weld individual parts together. You will use jib and overhead cranes to manually position parts and work in one and two person stalls that are clean, well ventilated, safe, and equipped with the latest technologies.

Possess a welding certification or a minimum of one (1) year welding experience
