This Legal Assistant position is located in Topeka, at the Eisenhower State Office Building, and is within the Office of Chief Counsel. This position provides legal assistant support for the handling of case management, drafting of legal documents, and performing of limited legal research in the areas of eminent domain and relocation appeals. Additionally, it provides legal assistant support for the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise program, Rail & Freight, and other legal matters. This position also functions as a back-up receptionist, handling calls and walk-ins.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Six months of experience as a legal assistant, paralegal, or legal secretary. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
Preferred Qualifications:

Education and/or experience in the use of legal terminology, legal concepts, legal practices, and research techniques.
Education and/or experience in drafting, proof-reading, and editing legal documents.
Experience utilizing the Internet and/or specialized computer software for legal research.
Experience with MS Word, MS Access, MS Excel, and Adobe Professional.

Annual Salary Range: $37,980.80 – $43,950.40 Hourly Pay Range: $18.26 – $21.13

Tooling Technician

Starting pay is $23/hour with training pay progression. Shift differential of $0.75 for 2nd shift and $1.00 for 3rd shift.

Responsibilities:
-Repair, inspect, and rebuild production tooling.
-Accurately inventory spare tooling components.
-Communicate with other production and support departments to troubleshoot and resolve root cause issues.
-Service equipment in-press and replace components to maintain production.
-Install, remove, and setup tooling components in production lines.
-Perform preventative maintenance and routine cleaning of tools.
-Clearly document work and record condition of tools.
-Operate precision measuring tools including calipers, micrometers, and indicators.
-Measure dimensions of completed components to verify conformance to specifications.
-Set up and operate conventional machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders.
-Safely operate powered industrial trucks and overhead cranes.

Primary Function:

The Maintenance Technician Intern is responsible for maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of all mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic functions of both injection molding and thermoform equipment.  This is a key technical support position with opportunity for training, development, and career growth.

Responsibilities:

-Inspect and repair mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on thermoforming equipment.
-Perform preventive maintenance procedures.
-Locate parts required for repairs or projects.
-Stay recognizant of all work performed on machines and machine performance.
-Maintain neat and orderly shop areas and areas as jobs are done at machines.
-Assume control of machine when a situation arises which has potential for personal injury or rapid deterioration of machine.
-Insure a safe and healthy work environment for department personnel.
-Monitor group and coach as needed.
-Complete work assigned by Shift Lead or Leadership Group.
-Communicate activities with Group Leadership and other members of the department.
-Obtain parts on a daily basis as well as emergency cases.
-Assist in other departments as requested by Leadership Group.
-Continue education and training to stay current with job requirements.
-Maintain PPE and company tools. Maintain and enforce all HAACP, GMP, Safety rules, department rules, and department guidelines.
