Adams Land and Cattle is seeking a self-motivated individual to assist with the pen maintenance at our South Lot in Broken Bow, Nebraska. Our heavy equipment team operates a broad variety of modern equipment for optimizing the living environment of cattle and to support the other earth moving aspects of a large cattle and farming operation. Operational skills include precision GPS operation of large dirt scrapers and bull dozers, as well as loaders, articulated dump trucks, skid steers, motor graders, tractors, excavators, and backhoes. This is a great opportunity for a critical thinker who enjoys operating equipment.

This person will be responsible for:

Operating various equipment such as loaders, articulated dump trucks, tractors, skid steers, dirt scrapers, grader, and dozers in a safe manner.

Piling manure, loading trucks, hauling manure, drag scraping pens, repairing bunkpads and vet pen areas, cleaning bunkpads, tracking drainways for drying, clearing mounds for cattle comfort, GPS dozing of drainways as needed, etc.

Executing the goals to maintain and repair pens according to the strategy outline by the management team.

Ensuring the quality of pen maintenance and repair workmanship supports the overall lowest cost program by minimizing damage to pens, reducing replacement dirt, and reducing future activity, if possible.

Ensuring that equipment is maintained, greased, washed, and preventive maintenance activities completed in a timely fashion.

Supporting any and all efforts needed during storm recovery.

Completing daily activity sheets, load sheets, equipment maintenance logs, etc. in an accurate and timely fashion.

Recognizing that weather conditions may require constant change in activities and that cattle comfort is first and foremost regarding this activity.

Working effectively in a team environment to complete tasks.

Ideal candidate would possess the following qualifications:

Mechanically inclined with working knowledge of large diesel powered equipment.

Demonstration of skills, knowledge, and experience in pen manure management and pen maintenance.

Fabrication/Industrial Maintenance Technician- $5,000 Hiring Bonus

Adams Land and Cattle has an opportunity for a highly motivated and disciplined individual with a high aptitude in mechanics. At times, this individual may be required to assist with other projects in the Maintenance department.

This person will be responsible for:

Working safely in shop and feedlot environments, following all company safety guidelines.

Working with Machine Services/Lot Maintenance teams on a diverse range of projects, from build, to repair, rebuild and retrofit of production assets, including feedlot facilities (processing, feed mill, fencing, water and sprinkler systems) and equipment (feed and straight trucks, heavy equipment, tractors).

Performing skilled work in welding, cutting, shaping and machining accurately and precisely, using welding and machining equipment.

Inspecting and testing final product for conformance to quality standards and/or blueprint specifications.

Performing related material handling duties.

Coordinating ordering of required welding materials, such as rods, gas and metals.

Maintaining accurate parts use and/or other records.

Cleaning and maintaining the shop work area.

Cleaning and performing preventative maintenance (PM) and general repairs on utilized welding/machining equipment.

Communicating with engineering, supervisory, production services and feedlot personnel to effectively exchange technical information.

Responding to emergency or high priority work which may, on occasion, be outside of normal working hours.

Recognizing that weather conditions may require change in activities and that cattle comfort is first and foremost regarding this activity.

Evaluating current processes/procedures to recommend changes/modifications for improvements.

Ideal candidate would possess the following qualifications:

Welding certificate or a minimum of two years welding experience with arc and MIG welders required.

Industrial Maintenance Technician

The Alma plant has an opening for Industrial Maintenance Mechanic with opportunities for overtime. Successful candidates will work in our food processing production facility located in Alma, KS, and enjoy competitive wages along with a comprehensive benefits package. QUALIFICATIONS

Previous experience with mechanical work in an industrial manufacturing facility- preferring meat processing.
Previous experience with Refrigeration equipment, boilers, compressors, HVAC, fire suppression system, and water treatment equipment a plus.
Good problem-solving and decision-making skills
Strong pattern of initiative and ability to work with minimum supervision
Ability to prioritize and multi-task emergency and planned events.
Attention to detail.
Ability to use a computer and learn the various software programs required for the position.
Ability to climb ladders, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in wide range of temperatures (-10 degrees F to 100 degrees F)
Ability to use powered equipment i.e. forklifts, hi-lifts ect.
Working Conditions:

The incumbent will be exposed to all the hazard associated with a production floor environment not limited to the following – temperatures average 35-40 degrees Fahrenheit in plant, wet slippery floors, mechanical equipment, working with or around chemicals used to sanitize the facility and loud noise exposure. PPE required to include but limited to hard hat, safety glasses and hearing protection. When required by specific job other PPE will need to be worn.

Will assist in all areas of facilities maintenance and must possess working knowledge of: plumbing, carpentry, electrical, sheet metal and welding.
Move equipment and materials within and between school buildings.
Staff members must not exceed 40 hours of work in a week. More than 40 hours may be assigned, but is not authorized without prior approval from the Assistant Superintendent of Business.
Act as a substitute custodian when necessary.
Respect the confidentiality of records and information regarding students, parents, and teachers in accordance with accepted professional ethics, and state and federal laws.
Strive to maintain and improve professional competence.
Stay abreast of new technologies, data management and communication.
Comply with legal and regulatory requirements as provided by state and federal law.
Uphold and enforce board policy, administrative procedures, and school rules/regulations including but not limited to:
Acceptable use of technology
Sexual and racial harassment
Child abuse reporting
Health and safety including all precautions of the Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Control Plan
Maintain safe and well-organized instructional spaces.
Respond to change in a productive manner.
Strive to communicate the positive aspects of our school program to the public in word and deed.
Other duties as assigned by administration.
