Safety Coordinator

Kansas Fencing LLC. is a leading fencing contractor serving Kansas City, Topeka, and Manhattan looking to hire a Safety Coordinator. This individual will play a key role in promoting and enforcing our safety standards across multiple project sites. The ideal candidate is bilingual in English and Spanish and comfortable working in a field-based role that involves frequent travel.

We are open to other backgrounds as well, not just safety, and not just construction. What you DO NEED to have is a driver’s license, clean driving record, and you will need to be able to speak, read, and write in Spanish.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct regular job-site inspections and audits across project locations to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Monitor and enforce company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and industry best practices.
Facilitate safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions in both English and Spanish.
Assist with accident investigations and prepare reports, identifying root causes and corrective actions.
Work closely with field crews and supervisors to promote a culture of safety.
Maintain up-to-date safety documentation and records for all job sites.

Participate in new hire safety orientations.

Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of safety experience in the construction industry or a similar field. (Preferred)
Bilingual in English and Spanish (reading and writing required).
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Willingness and ability to travel frequently between job sites (up to 50%+ of the time). No overnight travel will be needed.
Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and safety standards. (Preferred)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Preferred (Not Required):
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
Experience working in fencing, civil, or infrastructure-related construction projects.
CPR/First Aid certification.

A Day in the Life:

As an Installer, you can expect to work alongside the Operations team to install and maintain billboards while prioritizing the safety of yourself and others. Installation most often includes handling a large advertisement printed on vinyl and ensuring it is properly assembled to the billboard structure. The tallest billboard structure in the company is around 200 feet, so comfort with heights is a must.

Maintenance of our billboards includes construction work such as tightening bolts, painting steel structures, repairing trim and various parts of a billboard sign face and structure, changing light bulbs, and more. As for power/manual tools: you bring the experience, we bring the equipment!

In this role you’ll be expected to:

-Remove and hang flexes from billboards, remove and hang vinyls, cut and prepare flexes and vinyls for installation, cut, prepare and install copies on Tri-Visions
-Build and install extensions on billboards, cut brush/weeds, conduct storm damage repairs and minor electrical repairs, and maintain a clean workshop area
-Use power/manual tools while adhering to safety regulations
-Attend installer and construction safety meetings as required
-Maintain operation vehicles; maintain construction tools, equipment, and machinery
-Take completion photos for proof of performance of installations

What we’re looking for in YOU:

-Ability to work alone and manage your work schedule effectively

-Construction and/or billboard installation experience a plus, but not required

This person will be responsible for:

Operating various equipment such as loaders, articulated dump trucks, tractors, skid steers, dirt scrapers, grader, and dozers in a safe manner.

Piling manure, loading trucks, hauling manure, drag scraping pens, repairing bunkpads and vet pen areas, cleaning bunkpads, tracking drainways for drying, clearing mounds for cattle comfort, GPS dozing of drainways as needed, etc.

Equipment Operator – Street Maintenance

POSITION SUMMARY: Under general supervision, performs work of routine difficulty in the operation of trucks and construction equipment. Also performs manual labor related to road maintenance and repair. This is a 24-hour on call position and may require work outside normal business hours.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Perform strenuous manual labor.
• Be available for emergency call in. Required to work additional hours and/or be called to work based upon the immediate needs of the department, in a proven emergency situation, or as determined by the appointing authority.
• Assists in the maintenance and repair of roads, ditches, and signage.
• Operates trucks over 33,000 lbs. GVW and motorized highway and other equipment including graders, backhoes, front-end loaders, skid steers, power brooms, rollers, tractors, trailers, tiger mowers, and any other road maintenance equipment; and maintains and repairs the above listed equipment.
• Operates the asphalt distributor, including being able to read the gauges for set-up of spraying asphalt, suck back, cleaning and maintaining after use.
• Operates the lay down machine, including clean up after use.
• Understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, using the English language.
• Fills out time, labor and equipment sheets on a daily basis.
• Performs all other duties assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have a high school diploma, GED or educational equivalent
• Valid CDL Class A license with a tanker endorsement. Mission Township will assist in the obtaining of a CDL if candidate meets all other qualifications.
Qualifications
• Two (2) years’ experience in the use of tools, materials, and equipment used in general construction or agriculture.
• Must be twenty-one (21) years of age.
• Driving record that shows: No misdemeanor or felony convictions for traffic/vehicular offenses (DUI, vehicular homicide, reckless driving, hit and run, etc.) on the driving record that are less than five (5) years old; No more than two (2) at fault or chargeable accidents on their driving record that are less than five (5) years old; No more than two (2) traffic infractions (speeding, failure to yield right of way, etc.) that are less than one (1) year old.
