CAD-CAM Programmer (Drafting Technician I)

Harris Fabrication is looking to hire a CAD-CAM Programmer to join our drafting team! As our programmer, you will be responsible for nesting flat steel parts on the laser, structural steel parts on the beam processor, and offline programming of press brake and machining equipment.

**PLEASE NOTE: This is a computer technology position within our administrative office and will work closely with the CAD design and purchasing departments. Entry-level drafters highly encouraged to apply. For machine operation or production positions, please see our other job postings!

To ensure success as our CAD-CAM programmer, you should have a keen eye for detail.

CAD-CAM Programmer Responsibilities & Requirements:

Industrial Painter

Harris Fabrication is looking for an industrial painter to join our team! Qualified candidates will be responsible for applying finishes to various metal fabrications per print or blueprint specs provided. These coatings vary based on the needs of each customer, although we frequently use paint and powder coat applications. Any experience you may have with chemical safety and environmental procedure is a major plus. Sand blasting and finishing experience with different types of metal is also helpful.

Responsibilities & Requirements:

-Responsible for mixing paints, matching colors, preparing surfaces, and applying paint to these surfaces.
-May perform touch-ups or coordinate large painting projects.
-Strong background in powder coating and industrial painting.
-Strong attention to detail.
-Grinds, files, or sands surfaces of metal items using hand tools, power tools, and knowledge of metal finishing techniques.
-Examines and feels surface of metal to detect defects, such as dents, scratches, or breaks in welds.
-Smooths surface of item to specified finish, using hand tools and powered tools.
May polish metal surface, using powered polishing wheel or belt.
-Use materials to clean and etch stainless steel to provided specifics.
-Demonstrate ability to work independently without daily supervision.

CAD Drafter/Designer

Harris Fabrication is looking for CAD Drafters/Designers to supplement our drafting team. The CAD Drafter/Designer is primarily responsible for technical CAD work in preparing structural steel and sheet metal design and layout of fabrication details for our fabricators and welders.

Major Duties:

-Uses 3D modeling software to create customers’ projects virtually.
-Ensures model critical dimensions are accurate and reflect the customer’s prints and verifies accuracy of the models.
-Creates detailed shop drawings from 3D models and communicates to shop personnel regarding construction.
-Prints and organizes paper and electronic copies of shop drawings to allow easy assembly for shop personnel.
-Creates DXF files for laser-cut parts.
-Creates STP files for beam processor parts.
-Reviews projects, determines material quantities required for projects, and assists -Sales Department with estimates.
-Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

-Graduation from High School or GED equivalent required.
-Graduation from an accredited Technical School Program or an Associates of Technology Degree in CAD Technology preferred.
-Two (2) years of progressively responsible experience with building CAD design, with Mechanical, Structural, Sheet Metal, and Fabrication knowledge as an inclination is preferred.
-Strong math and analytical skills and attention to detail.
-Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Windows, Outlook)
-Working knowledge and direct experience with Solid Edge, Solid Works, AutoCad 3D, and/or Inventor. Tekla experience is a plus.
-Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
-Ability to organize, multi-task, plan and set priorities with minimal supervision.
-Ability to work independently and in team settings.
-Ability to exercise good judgement with a strong attention to detail.
-Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across all levels of Harris Fabrication.
-Demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and situations.
-Must be able to satisfactorily pass a criminal background check.

Physical Demands:

Qualified candidates will have some previous welding experience and be responsible for the following: Setting up parts for welding by using hand tools, clamps, jigs and fixtures. Working from specifications, drawings and weld symbols. Preparing and completing work on materials by welding, cutting, grinding and cleaning metal.

Weatherization Field Specialist

KHRC is looking for a individual passionate about helping low income households improve their comfort and reduce their utility bills through energy efficiency. Working through the Kansas Weatherization Assistance Program, this position will serve as a quality control auditor and trainer to ensure the program is providing the highest quality services. Key duties include:
-Provide technical support for all levels of the Weatherization Assistance Program.
-Schedule and conduct site visits of homes to review completed work and write associated technical summary reports per program requirements.
-Observe work performed for quality and compliance which will require accessing attics and crawlspaces.
-Review energy audits and work scopes in the office and help develop and maintain technical policies and procedures related to energy efficiency upgrades.
-Demonstrate knowledge of general home energy efficiency inspection procedures and general building codes.

Craftsman/Carpenter

Responsible for performing various scopes of work as needed on commercial construction projects. This can range from light framing and drywall work to concrete finishing, blocking, fire caulking, or installing custom fabricated fixtures. The work may be self-performed contracted work, general project maintenance, or strategic completion to improve the schedule for the trades by completing tasks needed in front of their work. The work will be done under the supervision and guidance of the project Superintendent.
Required Skills:

Knowledge to read and interpret plans, specs, safety regulations, maintenance instructions, etc.
3+ years’ carpentry/craftsman/handyman-type experience.
Excellent communication skills.
Self-sufficient and a self-starter.
Willing to travel and have the ability to work occasional weekends, evenings, and overnights.
Produce quality work, safety, and in a timely manner.
Procore experience is helpful but not required.
