Structural Welder

Welds by the electric arc method using stick, gas or flux-shielded wire, semi-automatic, automatic, button or stud welding equipment on carbon, alloy or stainless steel plate, sheet, shapes, castings or other parts included in fabricated steel work. Interprets drawings with some assistance from supervisor. Interprets welding symbols, selects the correct welding electrode and adjusts the welding machine to make the welds specified. May operate arc air gouging equipment. Must produce welds which are acceptable in strength and appearance in flat, horizontal and vertical positions using stick or gas-shielded wire welding procedures. Should be able to judge proper setup for welding with some assistance from Foreman.

Compensation:
Starting at $20/hr with full benefits package include 9 paid holidays, 401k, and PTO.

BASIC PURPOSE/SCOPE

The Maintenance Apprentice develops and learns to provide maintenance skills as a resource for the maintenance function to ensure effective equipment operation. The Maintenance Apprentice will focus on completing all required coursework to attain minimum requirements of Maintenance skillsets within a specified amount of time. (Much of the course work is “On-Line”)
They will work with Qualified Maintenance Mechanics to attain OJT and develop practical skills within a specified amount of time.
The Maintenance Apprentice will work towards milestones set forth by Maintenance Leadership.
This will be the first step to grow as a Maintenance Mechanic towards higher levels within the progression path. #LI-JV1
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Learn and develop, at a minimum, all safety requirements, required mechanical, troubleshooting, communication and behavioral skillsets to function efficiently at minimum required qualified mechanic standards.
Successful completion of required coursework to develop required Maintenance skillsets.
Learn to perform preventive maintenance on bakery equipment.
Assist in inspection and upkeep of machinery and equipment.
Learn to repair/replace components on motors, pumps, mixers, conveyor lines, ovens, coolers, etc.
Learn to inspect/replace belts, hoses, and drive components as needed.
Become proficient at ensuring equipment integrity and timely repair.
Become proficient at completing and documenting work orders on equipment.
Ensure equipment in area is maintained, guarded and operated in accordance with defined safety regulations and procedures.
Understand levels of line downtime and waste caused by equipment issues and associated points of cause.
Proactively identify improvement focus areas.
Participate in root cause problem solving by team.
Identify potential cost savings and cost avoidance.

Encourage all associates to work in a safe manner and in accordance with defined safety regulations and procedures.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Required

Fluent in English.
Pass required exam/test for acceptance into Apprenticeship program.

Able to attain basic Maintenance skills.
Able to attain basic computer skills.
Ability to work off ground level with proper safety training and safety equipment.

Interprets drawings, identifies materials, prepares, assembles and welds carbon steel, alloy steel and stainless steel pipe, tubes and fittings for high temperature or high pressure applications using either tungsten arc or metallic arc welding method. Welds joints in all positions by the metallic arc method. Is familiar with requirements of our pipe welds, able to meet these requirements and to determine whether they are being met as the work progresses.

Under general supervision, performs work of routine difficulty in the operation of trucks and construction equipment. Also performs manual labor related to road maintenance and repair. This is a 24-hour on call position and may require work outside normal business hours.

Daytime Receptionist/Bookkeeper

We are seeking a receptionist/bookkeeper for daytime hours. We will consider both part-time and full-time applications. Some experience in a customer service is preferred but not required. Will train the right person. This currently is a temporary job but based on job performance might lead to a permanent role.

We would like to hire someone that can type and use computer-based programs. The job will be at our front desk and the applicant will be required to check in and out clients, receive payment, make appointments for clients and do any other office duties requested. The job may evolve into working with clients that have payroll and other accounting needs.

We are a small business and work around other obligations such as school or family. We only have an opening for daytime Monday thru Friday working hours.

First Line supervisor of the Publications Writer. Assigns special projects and other assignments related to the Publications Writer.
3) Researches, writes and edits special projects for agency senior staff and members of other state agencies, when assigned. Projects such as correspondence and research projects on controversial topics are presented to members of the Patrol, local, state and federal governmental bodies and the general public to inform and/or persuade various audiences. This involves internet and library research, interviews and statistical analysis writing. Researches, writes and edits press/news releases, website features, agency pamphlets, brochures, columns and articles, as assigned by immediate supervisor and/or senior staff member, while meeting deadlines in order to educate and/or persuade various audiences.
4) Interviews department officials and employees to obtain information about agency programs to write and edit information for agency publications, news releases, annual and special reports, speeches, and radio and television scripts. Works with the media team to coordinate content for agency publications and social media. Assists with assignments relating to Cadet and Collegiate Law Academies, Boys/Girls State, Kansas State Fair, and other related public events.
5) Confers, in writing or orally, with the general public, civil organizations, departmental officials and employees, and members of the communications media to establish and maintain liaison, answer inquiries and explain and interpret agency programs and service. Coordinates with the troop Public Resource Officers for consistent media messaging.
6) Performs other related duties when assigned by immediate supervisor, troop commander and senior staff members.

Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Licensing & Certification: Valid Kansas Driver’s License.

Necessary Special Requirements: Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Experience performing research, conducting interviews and experience working with statistical analysis. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills are mandatory. The ability to perform within a diverse work environment. Position requires incumbent to be knowledgeable of agency business, policies, procedures, and possess the ability to think conceptually. Demonstrated excellent written & oral professional communication using correct grammar, sentence structure and spelling. Proficient in social and other media, Word, Excel, and Adobe.
“Experience – Length in years and kind”: Three years of experience in developing, planning, and managing public relations/publicity campaigns, mass media communications activities, public information programs, and/or marketing/promotional campaigns
‘Experience – Length in years and kind’ may be substituted for education as determined relevant by the agency.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor degree in journalism, communications, marketing, public relations, advertising, graphic arts, digital media, videography, or related field of study.
