Mechanical Technician

Adams Land & Cattle is seeking a skilled and versatile individual to oversee and execute the maintenance plan of our fully automated feed mill, including preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs.

This person will be responsible for:

Troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems, including motors, variable frequency drives, PLC’s, instrumentation, sensors, and various control systems.

Interpreting basic electrical flows for troubleshooting control systems

Performing electrical work, including attachment of machines to electrical circuits.

Troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining pneumatic and hydraulic systems, including pumps, valves, cylinders, and plumbing.

Conducting mill maintenance and repairs to minimize mill downtime, while also driving production and efficiency.

Becoming a “go to” person or “feed mill authority” on a majority of the mill, flaker, and boiler operations and procedures.

Proficiently using test equipment, such as voltmeters and amp meters.

Ensuring systems operate to meet quality regulations and are optimized for efficiency.

Ensuring all mill and flaker inspections are completed to meet timelines.

Completing all necessary documentation and work orders, in addition to quality and production logs and end of day paperwork.

Maintaining a projects list on a weekly basis in order to schedule repair days.

Organizing and maintaining the mill and flaker inventories so parts and supplies are on hand.

Supporting feedlot personnel as needed for maintaining and repairing facilities around the lot.

Operating various welding and torch equipment.

Actively seeking ways to improve efficiency and cost savings.

Working closely with all levels of the organization.

Serving as the on-call contact for nights and weekends; responding to emergency or high priority work which may, on occasion, be outside of normal working hours.

Skills and qualifications:

Mechanical interest and aptitude.

Electrical interest and aptitude.

Electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and water systems experience.

Welding experience, knowledge, and skills.

Experience with PLC’s a plus.

Exhibits mentoring and leadership skills.

Commitment to safety and quality culture.

Excellent verbal communication

Self-starter and ability to work independently

Ability to use analytical techniques for problem solving, coordination, and decision making.

Driven, organized, action-oriented, analytical, and able to multi-task.

Individual must be team oriented.

Technical / Vocational degree is preferred.

Proven professional communication and customer service skills.

Physical requirements:

Exerting 50-100 pounds of force occasionally; 25-50 pounds of force frequently; 10-20 pounds of force constantly. Standing, sitting, walking, carrying, and lifting/lowering frequently; pushing/pulling, bending, twisting, climbing, reaching/handling/grasping, and kneeling/crouching occasionally; crawling and stairs rarely.

Valid driver’s license

Compensation Details:

$25.00-$30.00 per hour

$5,000 Hiring Bonus

Person of good character who is mentally and physically able to conduct oneself in a responsible manner in carrying out the job for which they are employed. Must be a team player who can multi-task with the ability to work multiple jobs and meet various timelines while providing direction and support to multiple people with various types of disabilities. Must be patient and creative. Math skills should reflect the ability to accurately count and record data.

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Two years working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred and /or appropriate coursework in the MR/DD field.
• Experience in production, housekeeping and janitorial experience helpful.
• Valid Kansas driver’s license and driving record that meets insurability requirements as defined by the company’s insurance carrier.
This position is full-time, Monday-Friday, no evenings or weekends with eight (8) paid holidays. Health Care, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance and PTO is offered and much more. TARC, Inc. is a participant in KPERS.

Direct Support Professional

TARC, Inc. is seeking a Direct Support Professional. Successful candidate will be part of the Day Services/Senior Services Team and will support adults with developmental disabilities. The position will provide support and services within a habilitation setting. Responsibilities will include implementing goals from individualized plans developed for adults. Focus will be on promoting independence, integration, inclusion, and productivity in a supportive warm, nurturing atmosphere for all adults. TARC Inc offers a $1,000 sign on bonus which is paid in 4 installments over the 1st 6 months of employment.

Desirable qualities include person centered focus, flexibility and a willingness to learn.
Job requirements include:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities preferred.
• Certified Nursing Aid (CNA) preferred
