An understanding in diesel engines, hydraulics, electronics and electrical systems and precision ag systems.

POSITION PURPOSE:
This position reports directly to the Regional Rental Manager (RRM), and follows the daily priorities as set by the Rental Field Operations Manager (FORM) and RRM. The Lead Rental Technician (LRT) is a skilled technician, adept at performing a full range of equipment repairs on light construction equipment.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
10% Collaborate with Customers and Peers – Communicates with other technicians, store associates, and customers in order to fully understand the mechanical problems being reported
10% Manages Parts Inventory – Obtains parts needed for repairs, while maintaining accurate parts inventory
10% Plan Repairs – Reviews Down Equipment Report and communicates with Rental Field Operations Manager to prioritize repairs and service calls
60% Repair and Maintain Equipment – Diagnose, maintain and repair all components of the machine, including gas and diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, fuel systems, and brake systems
10% Work Documentation – Utilizes company technology platform to document all work performed on equipment, including labor, and parts

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS Environment:

Mobile Diesel Technician

Schedule:
Full time; Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:30pm

About the Role:

Accident repairs on trailers may include welding and complex component changes (frame rebuilds, etc). Some locations may require repair and replacement of lift gates, roll-up door, and congear.
Inspect components including: loose tie rod ends, kingpins, wheel bearing, hood adjustment, and air ride height etc.
Communicate with internal customers including other shop associates, drivers, and operations leaders on repair stances, wait times, reasons for repair decisions and status updates.

Job Duties
Perform all levels of repair and preventative maintenance on heavy machinery, diagnose and troubleshoot problems, make recommendations for repairs and perform critical repairs and adjustments
Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, and test and adjust assemblies with minimal supervision

JOB SUMMARY
Join our FAMILY!!! Brundage-Bone Concrete Pumping, Kansas Branch for a full-time Mechanic. Reporting to the Branch Manager, this position is responsible for performing regular preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure equipment functions properly. The position analyzes and repairs equipment when it breaks by using tools to repair damage and by replacing parts that cannot be repaired and assists the Service Manager in whatever is necessary to keep equipment running. Because this is a highly competitive business, the hours worked will be irregular with many last minute changes. A mechanic has to be flexible to the needs of the Company and its customers.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Repair and maintain all equipment pursuant to the company’s standards, including regular services, daily maintenance, and all regulatory requirements.
As necessary, drive to jobsite to repair company equipment.
Change oil and filters; lubricate all equipment.
Replace parts or repair all equipment as the work schedule demands.
Welding and metal fabricating – hard face weld on some wear parts. Weld and repair pans and other equipment as needed.
Ensure all trucks meet DOT specifications at all times.
Work overtime as the work schedule demands.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Must be trained in repairs, hydraulic and electrical systems
Must have good welding and metal fabricating skills.
Must own a large variety of tools and a tool box. Employee will be responsible for maintaining these tools and insuring as needed.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to push, pull and lift up to 75 pounds to an overhead position.
Ability to work outside and inside, around moving objects, vehicles, and machinery with moving parts.
