Data System Specialist

The Data/Core Specialist is responsible for managing our master data set, developing reports as required, and troubleshooting issues with our data and reporting environment. Uses ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) tools to control, standardize, and enhance our data. Will work with the core vendor and all support staff to maintain the core system. Updates and develops all aspects of the core system.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Manages master data, including creation, updates, and deletion.
Manages and designs the reporting environment, including data sources, security, and metadata.
Supports the data warehouse in identifying and revising reporting requirements.
Generates reports from single or multiple systems and processes confidential data and information according to guidelines.
Provides technical expertise on data storage structures, data mining, and data cleansing.
Applies knowledge of SQL to query, update, insert and delete data in multiple data sets.
Creates and maintains custom items using JavaScript.
Creates new system level member/account/suffix type information.
Manages core system parameters and updates default core system value.

Qualifications:

One to three years of similar or related experience as a data analyst or core system management.
A two-year college degree, or completion of specialized certification or licensing, or completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
High attention to detail.
Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job.
Strong working knowledge of popular data analysis tools and databases.
Demonstrated ability to handle large data sets and relational databases.
Has experience working with Financial Institution core system.
Has managed a complex software system analogous to a core system.

This is a full time Hybrid remote job based in Topeka, KS 66612

Network Administrator

Manage, maintain, and configure the Lottery network switches, firewalls and other network devices. Configure network monitoring, optimizations. Interface with vendors to ensure successful network implementation on lottery projects. Review and perform mitigation of audits, vulnerability reports and penetration testing on network equipment. Review vendor firewall changes for accuracy. Work with IT and lottery employees for disaster recovery.

Support, maintain, and operate Lottery technology systems and applications. Review logs for issues or problems. Remediate issues found in vulnerability reports, review monitoring application for issues/problems, attacks or any other items noted by the application.

Act as a backup to the Systems Administrator working on servers and applications that the lottery uses. Perform duties on Microsoft Servers including backups, restores, creation and maintenance of user accounts, modifications to Active Directory. Administer user and computer accounts to ensure proper OS updates and virus protection. Install hardware and software, assists with network set-up, support and maintenance. Provides training and support to users.

Compensation: $48,000-$55,000. Salary can vary depending upon education, experience, or qualifications.
