JOB SUMMARY
Join our FAMILY!!! Brundage-Bone Concrete Pumping, Kansas Branch for a full-time Mechanic. Reporting to the Branch Manager, this position is responsible for performing regular preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure equipment functions properly. The position analyzes and repairs equipment when it breaks by using tools to repair damage and by replacing parts that cannot be repaired and assists the Service Manager in whatever is necessary to keep equipment running. Because this is a highly competitive business, the hours worked will be irregular with many last minute changes. A mechanic has to be flexible to the needs of the Company and its customers.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Repair and maintain all equipment pursuant to the company’s standards, including regular services, daily maintenance, and all regulatory requirements.
As necessary, drive to jobsite to repair company equipment.
Change oil and filters; lubricate all equipment.
Replace parts or repair all equipment as the work schedule demands.
Welding and metal fabricating – hard face weld on some wear parts. Weld and repair pans and other equipment as needed.
Ensure all trucks meet DOT specifications at all times.
Work overtime as the work schedule demands.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Must be trained in repairs, hydraulic and electrical systems
Must have good welding and metal fabricating skills.
Must own a large variety of tools and a tool box. Employee will be responsible for maintaining these tools and insuring as needed.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to push, pull and lift up to 75 pounds to an overhead position.
Ability to work outside and inside, around moving objects, vehicles, and machinery with moving parts.
Must tolerate working environment with outside temperatures that include excessive heat, cold, wind, and precipitation.
Must be able to work overtime and weekends when necessary.

Maintenance Tech IV

Mechanic – Fleet Services

The City of Topeka’s Fleet Services team members are true behind-the-scene heroes, performing preventive maintenance, services and repairs on a wide variety of gasoline and diesel light and medium duty vehicles. They keep our first responders’ vehicles running smoothly so they can keep our community safe.

The Fleet Services team is seeking dedicated, like-minded individuals to join their team. The desired individuals shall have strong communication and interpersonal skills, good computer skills, be highly punctual and reliable, and knowledgeable and interested in the service, maintenance and repair of a diverse fleet of vehicles and specialty equipment.

Minimum qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational school applicable to the mechanics trade is preferred and must have and maintain a valid KS driver’s license applicable to the work requirement for equipment operated and a city insurable driving record. Openings will be filled at the levels below based on qualifications:

Mechanic I requires One (1) year verifiable, full time automotive, truck or heavy equipment maintenance work. Experience can be substituted with the completion of a vocational school program applicable to the mechanics trade.

Mechanic II requires Three (3) years verifiable full time journeyman light automotive, light truck maintenance work.

Master Mechanic – Must possess Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Master Technician certificate and Three (3) years verifiable journeyman experience in diagnosis, repair and overhaul of gasoline and diesel internal combustion engines and automotive mechanical, hydraulic and electrical system maintenance.

Positions are available on first and second shift with potential for emergency response and call back overtime situations.

$19.31 – $23.08 per hour DOQ plus $0.75 cents additional per hour for second shift hours.

Diesel/Shop Technician

Seeking dedicated person responsible for maintenance and repairs of our trucking and heavy equipment fleet.
Essential Duties:
– Inspect, repair, & maintain commercial vehicle, equipment, and machinery to ensure proper operating condition.
– Perform routine maintenance, including but not limited to: oil changes, tire rotations, grease, inspections, & brake checks.
– Proper utilization of hand & power tools & PPE
– Inspect, test & listen to identify defective equipment. Diagnose malfunctions using testing instruments.
– Weld or solder broken parts & structural members.
– Recondition & replace parts.
– Adjust vehicle components according to specifications.
– Clean, lubricate & perform other routine maintenance work on equipment & vehicles.
– Conducting field visits in case of emergency or sudden breakdown.

Qualifications:

Master Mechanic I – City of Lawrence, KS

Job Summary: The City of Lawrence, Municipal Services and Operations Department is seeking to fill a Master Mechanic I position. This individual will perform preventive maintenance and repairs on all vehicles, other rolling stock and non-rolling equipment in the City’s fleet.

Job Responsibilities
100% – Master Mechanic I is an advanced position. Employees in this position will be expected to perform complex tasks and work on specialized equipment and vehicles. Will perform record keeping activities on repairs performed and provide technical assistance to lower level mechanics and garage personnel. Employees perform more difficult and responsible types of duties including lead repairs of gasoline, diesel, and other types of fuel-powered equipment, and on hydraulic and electrical systems. Employees at this level are required to be fully trained in all procedures related to assigned area of responsibility.

Qualifications
Qualifications – Requires HS/GED equivalent, plus additional specialized training in automotive/ mechanical repair. Must have at minimum two years of increasingly responsible automotive/ mechanical repair experience. Knowledge and skills related to the repair of fire apparatus and medical units is strongly preferred.

• This position requires the possession of, or the ability to obtain, a valid commercial driver’s license (Class B required, Class A preferred, Air Brake Endorsement Mandatory)

• This position requires ownership of personal hand tools adequate to repair most common vehicles or equipment

• Current ASE and/or EVT certification strongly preferred

• Master Mechanic I: Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Master-Level Auto/Light Truck or Heavy Truck certification within one calendar year of hire date

• Master Mechanic II: Eligible advancement once completed Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) Ambulance or Fire Apparatus Certification

This position is located in Topeka within the Bureau of Structures & Geotechnical Services. This position provides mechanical repairs and service for truck mounted drilling equipment and support vehicles and other equipment associated with geotechnical investigations.

Mechanic

This person will be responsible for:
– Conducting quality repairs on all ALCC agriculture equipment, resulting in maximum functionality, reliability and longevity. Equipment types include, but are not limited to: feed and other trucks, heavy and construction equipment, tractors, loaders, skid steers, fork lifts, ATVs, mowers, vehicles, motors and generators.
– Troubleshooting reported problems on equipment and vehicles, diagnosing breakdowns, repairing, and resolving issues in a timely manner.

Heavy Equipment Technician

Bayer Construction Company, in Manhattan, KS is currently looking for a technician for our Heavy Equipment Shop. We are looking for a skilled individual with electrical, hydraulic, and air conditioning troubleshooting experience. On-the-job training will be provided. The technician will inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose equipment as assigned by the shop supervisor. They will be responsible for repairing, replacing, or rebuilding any broken components on many types of equipment, including but not limited to, skid loaders, wheel loaders, backhoes, excavators, and haul trucks.
