You will work with customers to electrically/mechanically troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of commercial food equipment to include cooking, food preparation, ware washers, weigh wrap, baking and refrigeration.
You will typically leave from home each morning and work with minimal direct supervision at customer sites.
You will meet or surpass weekly productivity and customer-oriented goals while maintaining a high level of customer service.

HVAC/R Technician

Position: HVAC/R Technician

Term: 12 Months

Classification: Classified/Non-exempt

Location: District Wide

Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent; EPA Refrigerant Certification; Class E Driver’s license (Chauffer or better) with good driving record

Supervisory: No

Reports to: Director of Facilities

Solve practical problems utilizing math functions as needed to complete job duties.
Read and interpret documents such as work orders, safety rules, and handbooks and apply to job duties.

Essential Functions

Installation, troubleshooting, and repair of food service refrigeration and freezer.
Installation, troubleshooting, and repair of building cooling and heating systems (i.e. boilers, chillers, RTU’s, etc)
Repairs drinking fountain, refrigeration, and ice machines.
Repairs washing machines and clothing dryers.
Installation, troubleshooting, and repair of all electric heat and heat pumps.
Repair to all major appliances in Food Service.
Maintain cold storage and freezer storage units at Food Service Warehouse.
Repairs to air circulating systems and restroom exhaust systems.
Work cooperatively with other district electricians.
Work cooperatively with all skilled craft in the planning and implementation of all projects.
Maintain a Material Safety Data Sheet File for work area.
Carry out all other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

Occasionally lift, push or pull over 100 pounds
Lift, push, pull, and otherwise handle equipment and tools
Frequently squat or kneel to the ground
Occasionally crawl in tight spaces
Frequently bend and twist while operating tools and equipment
Frequently walk up and down stairs
Frequently climb and descend ladders
Frequently use repetitive arm, wrist and hand movements
Use close, distance and peripheral vision as well as depth perception

Conditions and Environment

Environment is that of a typical school and work shop settings. The individual who holds this position must:

Frequently work in temperatures below 32 degrees and above 100 degrees Fahrenheit
Occasionally work in rain, sleet and ice and drive on slippery conditions
Often work in an area with a high noise level including engine noise and the sound of many children speaking, a raised voice may be necessary

HVAC Service Technician

Blue Dot is looking for an HVAC service technician.
As an HVAC technician you must be trained in cleaning, adjusting and repairing HVAC systems. Experience is helpful, but not mandatory.
You must be able to pass a background check, have a valid drivers license, refrigerant license and be able to pass a physical capacity test and drug screen.

Sheet Metal Workers are responsible for a vast scope of work. We are very proud to be the only trade that designs, manufactures and installs our own products. Our scope of work includes HVAC, Architectural and Industrial sheet metal. Testing, adjusting and balancing HVAC components. Knowledge in boilers, compressors, generators, heating, air conditioning, as well as various mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
Ability to read and interpret blue prints
Knowledge in building codes and safety regulations, maintenance practices, procedures and guidelines.
Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or its equivalent, and be a graduate of technical school in performance of general maintenance or equivalent practical experience in mechanical and maintenance work.

Engineer

Assist with the operation maintenance and repair of equipment.
Change out light bulbs; perform preventative maintenance for guest rooms to include: vinyl repair touch up paint minor furniture repair tub caulking tile repairs etc.
Perform preventative maintenance for ice machines refrigerators kitchen equipment laundry equipment HVAC guestrooms meeting rooms the swimming pool and hot tub.
Perform plumbing repair laundry equipment repair preventative maintenance on all exhaust fans and supply; monitor energy conservation; repair vacuum cleaners and any other small equipment upon request.
Immediately follow up on any alarms to determine the exact location and cause – determine emergency status and report to the Front Desk with findings.
Perform other tasks/jobs as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
