Remote Entry-Level Application Engineer

Power IT is recruiting for a REMOTE Entry-Level Application Engineer who will be tasked with providing Tier 2 application support for our client in Topeka, KS

NOTE – This is a Contract position scheduled in 6 month increments, scheduled for a total of 18 months. If selected this position will require a pre-employment background check and education verification. We are unable to provide Visa Sponsorship for this position.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
The position will be tasked with determining Tier 2 Application escalation for software issues from the service desk, specifically
· Gathering information on the problem
· Monitoring incoming issues
· Resolve issues using provided guidance

DUTIES
The successful candidate will be tasked with several daily duties and responsibilities to include
· Providing excellent customer service to technical and non-technical users
· Documenting technical steps and resolutions to repetitive issues.
· Perform routine daily tasks for developers
· Provide for running several daily reports
· Provisioning users into applications
· Low level development for applications or reporting.
· Testing and debugging of applications prior to implementation.
· Development and maintenance of application documentation.
· Monitoring applications to ensure maximum performance.
· Maintaining and enhancing applications to address newly discovered problems or new requirements.
· Providing for backup and recovery procedures and processes.
· Following policies and procedures to ensure corporate data security.

Mandatory Skills:
Familiar with standard concepts, best practices and procedures related to application development. Acquainted with application systems/business functions.

Communicates effectively with other technical staff.
Establishes cooperative relationships with members of the technical team. Establishes cooperative relationships with end-users.
Manages time effectively while assuring attention to details. Finishes tasks proactively, accurately, completely and on time.

Education/Experience
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other related field OR 2 years of application programming experience (Service Desk Support is acceptable)
