Job Summary: The Nursing Assistant’s primary function is to provide basic patient care to help residents with activities of daily living in both Assisted Living and Home Health. This position will perform duties such as bathe, dress, and move residents as directed or needed. As a CMA, this position will administer medications as directed and chart reactions toward the medications.

Essential Functions / Duties:
• Provide direct resident care as assigned, to assist with daily living activities, and perform nursing care as noted below:
o Take mail to resident.
o Take meal tray to resident.
o Conduct security checks and provide first aide assistance.
o Answer call lights within designated timeframe.
o Help resident get to and from places such as his/her apartment to dining room, activity room, beauty shop, etc.
o Give baths or showers to residents.
o Complete oral hygiene and toileting.
o Assist with dressing the resident.
o Pamper resident if asked (i.e. converse with resident, play cards, take a walk).
• Conduct resident rounds daily and complete charting on residents.
• Check on sick residents periodically.
• Provide assistance in catered/assisted living dining room.
• Responsible for the safety of residents under his/her supervision.
• Participate in facility continuing education programs as required.
• Follow facility procedures for admission, discharge, and transfer of residents.
• Listen to resident, family, or physician concerns and initiate corrective action and/or report concerns to Charge Nurse(s).
• Operate hydration cart and provide to residents as scheduled or requested.
• Must be able to work any shift as directed by the Charge Nurse(s).
• Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Operate computers programmed with software needed to record, store, and analyze resident information; operate copy/fax/printer machines to send documents and produce documents.
• Perform other related duties as directed by the Charge Nurse(s).

This position is responsible for assisting in the administration of medications to residents as ordered by the attending physician, under the direction of the department director. The administration of medications shall be in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing the Community and as may be required by the department director or supervisor to ensure the highest degree of quality care is maintained. Certified Medication Aide

The Certified Medical Aide we select must possess a sincere passion for working with seniors, as well as have demonstrated knowledge of care giving in a senior living community. The position provides hands on assistance with the daily care needs of the residents including personal needs, grooming and hygiene, housekeeping, laundering, social interactions, and meals. A primary responsibility of this position is to coordinate medication administration for all assigned residents and for routinely monitoring the resident’s comfort.

We are looking for a committed individual with previous experience in a senior living setting, including, but not limited to:

Proficiency in administering medication and completion of daily shift reports
Experience in documentation and completion of task sheets and NSP
The ability to manage assigned tasks within the scheduled shift
The ability to meet the physical and emotional needs of the resident
Possesses a minimum of one year experience in a Certified Medication Aide/Med Tech role for an Assisted Living, Independent Living, Skilled Nursing Facility or Memory Care community

LPN (Temp and PT)

Kansas Neurological Institute is currently hiring for Regular, Benefits Eligible, Licensed Practical Nurse’s (LPN’s) and PT, Non-Benefits Eligible Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN’s).

This Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position is responsible for delivering nursing care to people who live at KNI.  Nursing care includes delivering medications, tube feedings, treatments and direct care.  Works under the direction of the RN’s and Physicians. Performs tasks but not limited to housekeeping, maintaining supplies, food preparation, and laundry.

Minimum Requirements:
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the State of Kansas.
Must take and pass a pre-employment drug screening test
Must pass a criminal background check

Preferred:
Ability to follow instructions and communicate in person, by phone and in written format.
Ability to perform body assessments requiring auditory, visual hands on techniques.
Ability to determine correct dosage of medications and formulas. 
Able to operate various types of medical equipment.
Able to move clients to and from beds, wheelchairs, using 2-person or mechanical lift.
