Final Assembly

Jakobe Furniture is currently seeking individuals to work in our assembly department as Material Handlers, Basic Assemblers, and Advanced Assemblers.
Primary Duties:
• Prepare work by studying assembly instructions and blueprint specifications.
• Organize parts, tools, and materials.
• Assemble components by examining for correct fit and fastening parts.
• Verify specifications by measuring completed component.
• Resolve assembly issues by altering dimensions to meet specifications.
• Keep equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs.
• Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Maintain supply inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies and verifying receipt of supplies.
• Document actions by completing production and quality forms.
• Contribute to team effort to achieve desired results.

Education:

Finishing Department

Jakobe Furniture is seeking qualified candidates for our Finishing Department.

Jakobe Furniture is currently seeking multiple experienced individuals to work in all stages of our finishing department. The job openings, duties and qualifications include, but are not limited to:

Table Top Finisher:
Pay Range: $18.00-$22.00 per hour

Primary Duties

• Read and understand work orders and drawings
• Stain application
• Mix materials ex. Urethanes, conversion varnish, lacquer based, and water-based products
• Use of airless, gravity, pressure pot, and air assist equipment
• Material handling
• Operation of the spray booth and air makeup system
• Make repairs to damaged product
• Sand/scuff wood and metal products
Job Qualifications
• Wood finishing or automotive finishing application experience 3-5 years
• Communication and ability to follow directions a must
• Automotive product knowledge a plus
• Ability to understand product spec sheets
• Knowledge of kremlin “airless” and Sata spray equipment
• Cabinet finishing experience a plus
• Proficient in matching stains, toners a plus
• Ability to lift 50 – 75#’s
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Finishing Preparation:
Pay Range: $15.00-$18.00 per hour

Primary Duties
Operating:
• Orbital sanders
• Belt sanders
• Routers
• Hand Planner

Job Qualifications
• Final sanding experience 3-5 years
• Communication and ability to follow directions a must
• Solid surface finish sander knowledge a plus
• Have a keen eye for product defects and quality control
• Ability to lift 50 – 75#’s
• Ability to stand and be on your feet during entire shifts
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

General Laborer:
Pay Range: $12.00-$15.00 per hour

Primary Duties
• Material Handling
• Flipping tables and moving carts to aid in the finishing material
• Cleaning of the finishing department
• Scuffing product between finishing coats
Job Qualifications
• Communication and ability to follow directions a must
• Ability to stand and be on your feet during entire shifts
• Attention to detail
• Ability to lift 50 – 75#’s repeatedly

Upholstery Department

Jakobe Furniture is seeking qualified candidates for our Upholstery Department
Jakobe Furniture is currently seeking individuals to work in our upholstery department as Machine Operators and Fabricators.

Primary Duties:
• Study work orders to determine the amount and type of materials required to cover work pieces.
• Follow sketches, patterns or blueprints to achieve the look and construction required by our customers.
• Measure and cut materials using manual or automated cutting instruments.
• Communicate with design engineers and sales prior to upholstering to determine correct color, style, and fabric preference.
• Examine furniture frames, springs, and webbings to identify defects.
• Build and/or repair upholstered furniture using a variety of hand and power tools.
• Ensure projects are completed on budget and delivered before set deadline.
• Cover wooden frame with soft materials such as cotton, felt pad, fiber or foam to improve texture and appearance.
• Work with tools and materials such as glue, staples, saw, cement, tacks and nail guns.
• Secure work pieces and materials onto production equipment.
• Conduct routine maintenance on work tools and upholstery machine.
• Finish upholstered furniture by attaching ornament trims, buttons, buckles, and grommets.
• Operate sewing machine to sew upholstery and join various sections of covering fabric.
Skills:
• Communication skills: ability to communicate with engineers.
• Dexterity: ability to manually strip and re-cover furniture with little to no implements.
• Creative: well versed in repairing and finishing furniture to improve appearance.

Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent education level as a minimum requirement.
• Training from a vocational school in upholstery courses desired, but not mandatory.
• Apprenticeship as an upholsterer for 3-4 years to gain work knowledge and experience.

Wood Shop

Jakobe Furniture is seeking qualified candidates for all levels in our in our Wood Shop

Jakobe Furniture is currently seeking individuals to work in our wood shop. Current positions that are available are: General Laborer, Machine Operator, and Fabricator.

Primary Duties:
• Prepare and stage wood materials
• Understand and operate machinery such as a CNC machine, planers, routers, and sanders
• Follow all policies and company practices to ensure a safe and quality working environment
• Operate within standard operating procedures and quality control processes
• Complete and process repetitive tasks with efficiency and accuracy
Skills:
• Required 1–2 years of related experience working in a similar industry
• Experience necessary running equipment such as a table saw and planer/sander
• Experience with a joiner preferred
• Advanced woodworking skills
• Ability to use hands or fingers to lift, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, and to stand, walk, sit and reach
• Must be able to lift and/or move 50 pounds

Education:

Shop Assistant

You will help move materials in the shop and keep an eye on safety, help fabricators with tasks and learn how to plan work. Some days will be in the field installing our product and running errands for the shop and installers. Heavy lifting required and hours can be variable. Training on Safety, Material Handling, Fabrication, & Installation provided. No tools needed.
