Position – Experienced Carpenter, Framer (Pay based on experience)

Location – Silver Lake, KS

Job Duties May Include:

Ability to precisely measure, cut and assemble the framing lumber needed to build residential, commercial or industrial buildings.
Ability to work on various types of jobs including new construction, remodels or additions to existing structures.
Working outdoors in all kinds of weather.
Lift and carry heavy objects, such as framing lumber, sheets of plywood and other building materials.
Good understanding of math functions and calculations involving fractions.
Work from sets of blueprints, and must know how to read and interpret them.
Good understanding of building codes, on-the-job safety and basic first aid.
Maintaining adequate transportation
Recognizes safety hazards and performs all tasks in a safe manner by adhering to work practices outlined in the company’s Safety Manual.
Knows the basic use and care of hand tools, shop tools and equipment.
Follow instructions accurately.
Analyze situations accurately and adopt an appropriate course of action.
Perform a variety of complicated tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:

Excellent communication skills.
Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Willing to autonomously and be self-directed.
A certain degree of creativity and latitude.
2-3 years or more of equivalent construction experience.
Skills to multitask and keep up in a fast-paced environment.
Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time, as well as climb, kneel, bend, squat, sit and twist frequently.
Required Education:

High School Diploma or GED
Required License or Certification:

Valid Driver’s License

Jakobe Furniture is currently seeking individuals to work in our assembly department as Material Handlers, Basic Assemblers, and Advanced Assemblers.
Primary Duties:
• Prepare work by studying assembly instructions and blueprint specifications.
• Organize parts, tools, and materials.
• Assemble components by examining for correct fit and fastening parts.
• Verify specifications by measuring completed component.
• Resolve assembly issues by altering dimensions to meet specifications.
• Keep equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs.
• Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Maintain supply inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies and verifying receipt of supplies.
• Document actions by completing production and quality forms.
• Contribute to team effort to achieve desired results.

Finishing Department

Jakobe Furniture is seeking qualified candidates for our Finishing Department.

Jakobe Furniture is currently seeking multiple experienced individuals to work in all stages of our finishing department. The job openings, duties and qualifications include, but are not limited to:

Table Top Finisher:
Pay Range: $18.00-$22.00 per hour

Primary Duties

• Read and understand work orders and drawings
• Stain application
• Mix materials ex. Urethanes, conversion varnish, lacquer based, and water-based products
• Use of airless, gravity, pressure pot, and air assist equipment
• Material handling
• Operation of the spray booth and air makeup system
• Make repairs to damaged product
• Sand/scuff wood and metal products
Job Qualifications
• Wood finishing or automotive finishing application experience 3-5 years
• Communication and ability to follow directions a must
• Automotive product knowledge a plus
• Ability to understand product spec sheets
• Knowledge of kremlin “airless” and Sata spray equipment
• Cabinet finishing experience a plus
• Proficient in matching stains, toners a plus
• Ability to lift 50 – 75#’s
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Finishing Preparation:
Pay Range: $15.00-$18.00 per hour

Primary Duties
Operating:
• Orbital sanders
• Belt sanders
• Routers
• Hand Planner

Job Qualifications
• Final sanding experience 3-5 years
• Communication and ability to follow directions a must
• Solid surface finish sander knowledge a plus
• Have a keen eye for product defects and quality control
• Ability to lift 50 – 75#’s
• Ability to stand and be on your feet during entire shifts
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

General Laborer:
Pay Range: $12.00-$15.00 per hour

Primary Duties
• Material Handling
• Flipping tables and moving carts to aid in the finishing material
• Cleaning of the finishing department
• Scuffing product between finishing coats
Job Qualifications
• Communication and ability to follow directions a must
• Ability to stand and be on your feet during entire shifts
• Attention to detail
• Ability to lift 50 – 75#’s repeatedly
