Vehicle Upfitter

The employee will install 12-volt emergency lighting, power systems, audio systems, radio communications, mounting equipment and additional items as needed. The employee must have a high quality of work, attention to detail and integrity is a must. Knowledge of 12-volt electrical and connections is necessary. Knowledge of hardware (screws, bolts, washers, nuts, etc.) application and proper use is necessary. The employee should be mechanically inclined and able to use basic tools to disassemble and assemble automobiles. The employee will use tools to disassemble vehicle interior and exterior to run wiring and install components.

VELIC Public Safety Solutions specializes in upfitting or building law-enforcement, EMS, fire/rescue and personally owned vehicles for use in emergency services. The employee will begin with basic projects to display their aptitude for the position. Potential exists to expand into standard vehicle maintenance, metal fabrication, project planning and mobile installations.

VELIC is seeking 10-30 hours per week as needed on projects, work time is flexible. The employee will primarily work within VELIC’s shop on SW Topeka BLVD in a heated and cooled garage in a well maintained industrial park.

Custom Job Purpose:
diagnose, adjust, repair or overhaul asphalt equipment.

Tasks
• Repair and replace damaged or worn parts.
• Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment to diagnose defects.
• Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers’ specifications.
• Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles.

• Clean parts by spraying them with grease solvent or immersing them in tanks of solvent.

Automotive Service Technician

Yingling’s Auto Service has an opening for a full time General Service, Lube, & Tire Technician. This is an hourly position that works Monday thru Friday 7:30-5:30 with no weekends.
