Summary / Objective
The City of Leawood Public Works Department is accepting applications for a summer internship in the Public Works Maintenance division.

Essential Functions / Responsibilities
Duties will include data entry, research and field verification of various infrastructure components, and other duties as assigned.

This position may help implement Public Works inventory management program.

May include miscellaneous office duties.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Minimum qualifications –
Ability to protect and maintain confidentiality of information.

Standard office procedures, systems, and practices including the use of a computer.

Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines with effective results.

Ability to read, write, and understand the English language with proper spelling and grammar to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Education and Experience Requirements –
Must possess a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record per the City’s drivers Use of Vehicles for City Business policy throughout employment with the City.

Prefer applicant to have training in ArcGIS database and/or GIS experience.

Prefer at least one year of Earth Science education.

Additional Information
This intern will report to Public Works Maintenance facility at 14303 Overbrook, Leawood, KS 66224 and will be under the direction of the Public Works Superintendent.
