Jefferson County 911 Communications is now accepting applications for a full-time Communications Specialist I. Qualified applicants should display excellent verbal communications skills, be self-motivated, work well under pressure, confident in decision-making and a highly functional team member. Prior dispatch experience is not required and all applications will be reviewed. Successful applicants will received job-specific training and certifications.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, possess a high school diploma or equivalent and valid KS DL. Selected candidates will be subject to an interview process, extensive background check, drug screen and physical agility test prior to the offer of employment. The 911 Communications center is a secure and recently renovated work environment staffed with excellent team members. The work schedule consists of a 12 hour, “Pitman” shift rotation.
