Extract data and form reasonable conclusions about which state statute or municipal code to use when information provided is unclear, incomplete, or totally missing.

The submitted documents can be complex and require a well-developed skill for analytical thought to arrive at an accurate conclusion.

Research, interpret, and apply rules for unclear data in order to arrive at a proper conclusion.

Guide and convince criminal justice agencies to submit data using the proper reporting methods to assure completeness, accuracy and timeliness of information.

Submit entries to the NICS Indices for convictions that meet the prohibition criteria.

Accounting Clerk

To manage and provide accurate, current and complete financial status of all operations of Homestead Affordable Housing Inc.(HAH), Homestead Community Development Inc. (HCD) and all other properties developed and managed by HAH or HCD.

This position performs input functions for computerized accounting in standard accounting formats; and maintains the required audit documentation for an acceptable audit trail. Enters data, handles accounts payable/receivable for numerous properties, files and does payroll. Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

1. Maintain and record transactions for accounts payable and accounts receivable.
2. Provide control and accountability for all funds, property and assets to assure purchases are solely for authorized purchases.
3. Provide comparisons of outlays with budget amounts and actual performance.
4. Provide staff with assistance as needed and written policies as warranted.
5. Monitor and report on activities and provide relevant information to management or others as directed.
6. Provide monthly, quarterly and/or annual reports to funding agencies as needed.
7. Review timesheets, complete payroll and generate payroll tax reporting.

Other duties as required:

1. Function as a team member in the HAH organization completing activities that enable the organization to thrive and grow in its ability to serve low income households.
2. Assist with Multi-Family programs as needed.
3. Assist Financial Manager, President and Director of Property Management as needed.
4. Provide help and support of Single Family Programs as needed.
5. Attend meetings to promote our organizational goals
6. Attend training to develop relevant knowledge and skills

The KBI is accepting applications to fill a Custodian Position in our Forensic Science Center. As a Custodian you will perform a variety of tasks to maintain a clean and safe laboratory facility in the Kansas Bureau of Investigation Forensic Science Center on the Washburn University Campus.

As a Custodian you will perform the following tasks:
• Use chemicals, cleaning supplies and equipment according to the manufacturer’s specifications comply with KBI policies and procedures on safety and chemical hygiene.
• Set up rooms according to written instructions, move furniture, and replace furniture at completion of events.
• Polish terrazzo floors using the proper cleaning material and equipment.
• Cleaning windows, both interior and exterior on established schedules.

• Clean offices: vacuum carpet, remove trash, clean lighting fixtures, replace light bulbs, empty trash and recycle bins according to established schedules.

• Respond immediately to requests to clean up spills and emergencies related to weather or building systems.
• Performs all additional duties as required by the KBI Facility Manager.

Engineering Technician & Drone Survey Coordinator – Full-Time

SMH Consultants (SMH); a reputable civil engineering and land surveying company based in Manhattan, Kansas; is seeking to fill a full-time position in its Manhattan, Kansas office immediately.

The applicant must have experience with computer aided drafting and engineering designs in AutoCAD Civil 3D whether educational or professional. CAD experience including internships and other experience is desired. SMH is utilizing the most current versions of Autodesk products. The applicant must have some familiarity with utilizing these software packages. SMH desires an individual with a minimum of 3 years of experience.

Daily tasks associated with the position would involve working with managers to assemble engineering designs related to streets, drainage, sanitary sewer, and water infrastructure; assembling topographic surveys from information collected in the field and coordinating data collection with field surveyors, preliminary plats, final plats, right of way strip maps, certificates of title, and plot plans.

Additionally, the individual in the position will also coordinate activities of SMH’s small unmanned aerial vehicle (sUAV) operations including: setting up projects for flight, maintaining drone equipment, analyzing data collected by the drone and insuring licensure currency through the Federal Aviation Administration. Other duties in this realm include researching expanding the use of the SMH sUAV. Although experience in this field is desired it is not required.

Other duties may include the possibility of inspecting construction projects in the field to assure conformance with engineering plans, general office duties, and maintaining SMH’s CAD operating systems to insure software/hardware demand capacity.
